When will I be a millionaire?
Your age, savings and monthly investment give the age at which you cross $1 million.
You reach $1M at age
That is 27 yr 11 mo from now. You would put in $293,000; growth does the rest.
How this calculator works
The calculator grows what you have today and adds your monthly investment, month by month, until the balance crosses your target.
The first $100,000 is the slowest. After that, growth on your existing balance starts doing more of the work than your deposits.
Common questions
Is $1 million still a lot?
It is worth less every year because of inflation. To think in today's dollars, use a return with inflation removed, such as 4–5% instead of 7%.
How much do I need to invest monthly to be a millionaire?
Change the monthly amount until the age matches your goal. Starting 10 years earlier often cuts the monthly amount needed by half or more.
Does this count my home?
Only count investments. Home equity adds to net worth but does not grow from monthly deposits in the same way.
FatDCA calculators are educational estimates, not investment, tax or legal advice. Results depend on the assumptions you enter, and past returns do not predict future returns.
