      Glossary/Market correction

      Market correction

      A fall of 10–20% from a peak.

A correction is a drop of 10% to 20% from a recent high. Corrections are common, often arriving every year or two.

      What to do

For a long-term plan, usually nothing. Corrections are a normal part of owning stocks. Keeping your recurring buys running means you buy more shares at lower prices.
