Skip it, invest it
Put a price on a daily habit, such as coffee, delivery or a subscription, and see it invested instead at 10, 20 and 30 years.
Skip coffee, invest it: in 30 years
That is $130 a month, or $1,560 a year. Over 30 years you would spend $46,800; invested, it grows to $158,596.
How this calculator works
The calculator turns the habit into a monthly amount (cost × times per week × 52 ÷ 12), then grows it as if invested each month.
It is not about never buying coffee. It shows the trade-off, so you can choose the habits worth their real price.
Common questions
How much is $5 a day invested?
About $150 a month. At 7% a year, that becomes roughly $78,000 in 20 years and about $180,000 in 30.
Is this realistic?
Only if the money you skip is actually invested. Setting up an automatic transfer the same day makes it real.
What return does it assume?
7% a year by default, a common planning figure for a stock index fund. Change it to see other cases.
FatDCA calculators are educational estimates, not investment, tax or legal advice. Results depend on the assumptions you enter, and past returns do not predict future returns.
